Digging into the brain
When and how did the human mind evolve? Researchers from the UK universities of Liverpool and Southampton are to undertake a project called Lucy To Language: The Archaeology Of The Social Brain, which has received one million pounds funding, and will bring together archaeologists, evolutionary psychologists, social anthropologists, sociologists and linguists.
I suspect someone has been sexing up their grant applications. But any project which gets different branches of science working together is to be welcomed—even if it doesn't manage to answer all the questions it claimed to set out to.
